LUDE CASTLE

http://www.lelude.com/

10 Km from Luché-Pringé, Lude castle and gardens are an important stop on a tour of the Unesco world heritage sites that are the main Loire castles.

The castle is open from 1st April – 31st October inclusive, and during school holidays in October.

PLEASE NOTEthe castle is closed on Wednesdays in April, May and September and open only on Saturdays and Sundays in October.

The castle is a record of four centuries of French architecture; the defensive fortress was transformed during the Renaissance and the classical period into an elegant dwelling that resembles a palace.

Whether you visit with your family, as a couple, or with friends, there is more to visit than just the castle and its famous gardens. Lovely surprises await you as you stroll through the grounds and discover the stables, cellars and maze.

Lude castle has belonged to the same family for the past 260 years, and belongs today to the Count and Countess Louis-Jean de Nicolaÿ, who are keeping culinary and decorative traditions alive.
